Why Festival Dance Academy?

Festival Dance Academy has been providing quality dance instruction in a warm, supportive environment since 1972.  

We believe that every student matters, and we are dedicated to helping each reach their full potential.

Openings for Dance instructors 

Do you have a passion for teaching and dance? Do you enjoy working with children? Perhaps, you have a stable primary job and want a part-time secondary income? Are you a student, looking for part-time income? Or perhaps you have a corporate job and want to connect with the local community while providing a creative opportunity for kids? Perhaps you have taught in the past, and want to come back to your passion for teaching dance to kids? If so, can you commit through the school-year 2021?

If the answer to the above questions, is “YES!” then Festival Dance, the oldest and most exciting dance school in the area, may be interested in you! We are hiring 2-4 new dance instructors in preparation for our 2020-2021 dance season. Wouldn’t you love to join a faculty of some of the most talented and passionate dance instructors in the Moscow, ID and surrounding area?

About the job: Candidates should have an interest in teaching and choreography for a variety of ages, styles of dance, and skill levels, and value working on a team. A passion for teaching dance is a must.  Hours could be anywhere from one to five hours weekly. Classes take place Monday-Friday from 3:30 pm to 8 pm at our main location in the PE Building at the University of Idaho. We also have 2 remote locations in Troy and Genesee where we teach classes 1 day a week, and are looking for instructors to fill these classes. You can find the complete j0b description HERE.

Offering supportive, classical instruction by faculty and dance majors from the University of Idaho, Festival Dance Academy offers a diverse range of dance and conditioning courses including classes for dancers of all ages in Ballet, Jazz, 

Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Creative Dance, and Pilates.  We also provide a wide array of performance opportunities for students and families at community events such as the Moscow Farmers Market, Halloween Flash Mob, Light up the Night with the Chamber of Commerce, our annual Holiday Showcase, "The Nutcracker", Spring Recital, and more.  

Festival Dance Academy's main location is in residence at the University of Idaho, and classes are taught in the recently renovated dance studio lab.  We also have satellite locations offering after-school dance education at Troy Elementary on Tuesdays, Genesee Elementary on Wednesdays, and Moscow Mountain Sport & Physical Therapy on Mondays.  

Festival Dance Academy is a proud member of the National Dance Education Organization.  With a strong investment in safety in the classroom, all faculty and staff are CPR and First Aid certified.  Many of our faculty have achieved degrees in Dance, Theater, Childhood Education, or are presently studying in the Dance Program at the University of Idaho.  Please visit the "Our Team" tab to read more about our amazing dance family.

Motion Fever Performance Troupe

 MOTION FEVER PERFORMANCE TROUPE is a dance team dedicated to enriching the performance experience of its team members. 

It is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to further develop their technique in a supportive team atmosphere.

The Performance Troupe learns various pieces of choreography throughout the year, and performs at community events such as the Farmers Market, Moscow’s Downtown Trick or Treat Event, Light Up the Night, Vandal half-time performances, and other seasonal events.

Being part of a performance dance team has many personal benefits, some of which include:
