Benefits to Students

We provide recitals to give our students a complete dance education, including performance experience on a professional stage. Recitals are an important part of developing confident dancers. Festival Dance prides itself on spring recitals that truly highlight the students! Each class performs a piece that is designed specifically for their age and abilities. All of our students go on stage with confidence that they have the technical ability to perform the choreography. In addition, you, the parent, will be confident that your child will be dressed in a costume and performing dance moves that are fun, tasteful, and age appropriate.

Fees and May Tuition

A $25 Recital Fee is due by March 5th, 2012 for each student for each course. (For example, if one student is enrolled in both Ballet 1 and Jazz the fee is $50.) The Recital Fee covers costumes (buying, making, cleaning), a costumer, expenses related to the backstage manager, floor moving, music, digital video & audio recording, facility rental, lighting crew and theater crew. We could not provide a high quality recital experience for your child without this fee. It is extremely important that you pay your fee on time to ensure you child’s participation in the recital. Tuition for May is due as usual by the 1st of the month. The month will consist of regular classes in the weeks before the recital as well as a dress rehearsal and a recital. May’s tuition will not be pro-rated. The dress rehearsal and the recital performance is a valuable part of the dance education we provide.

Rehearsals

Generally rehearsals are done in class until the week of performance – sometimes we have extra rehearsals for advanced classes or when classes are combined, but in that case you will be notified in advance. Rehearsal schedules for the week and day of the performance will be mailed to you and posted on our website. Please adhere to the scheduled arrival times to make rehearsals move along smoothly and provide a great performance experience for every one involved!

Costumes

Parents will not have to provide any costumes beyond what is required as part of the dress code for each class, hair, and make-up. Individual instructors will notify parents of the hair and make-up requirements for their child’s class(es). All other items necessary for the costumes will be provided by Festival Dance.

DVDs

We hire a professional videographer, ZKPro, to record and produce a professional quality video of our recitals. DVDs can be ordered prior to the recital dates, and forms will be available at the recitals.
